Year 2012 Wrap Up

Sharp December 23, 2012
Another season comes to a close, and a new season looms upon us. Hope everyone had fun playing this year. The following awards were obtained by the players listed for Year 2012: Season Champion: Sharp Most Points: B-Jack (66.87) Most Wins: Sharp (5) Most Kills: Sharp (72) Most Winnings: B-Jack (1610) Most Consecutive Wins: B-Jack (3) Most Times Placed: B-Jack (10) Most Improved Player: Zulli Sharp's Bitch: Andy C.: (4/2 of Hearts) Most Improved Player was something new for this year. As the season was coming to a close, this one was giving me some trouble. I was having a hard time picking between Momma Sharp, V, & Zulli. Though with Zulli's play in the Championship Game this year, it really became no contest. Here's your players to watch in 2013: Momma Sharp: Missed the Championship Game by the narrowest margin we probably will ever see. Very solid stats for the year with only 12 games played. Zulli: If he can play for the season like he did towards the end of 2012, he has the potential to make a lot more noise in 2013. (Clock!) Flox: Better keep an eye on this guy. The stats he pulled off in 7 games played is amazing. If he plays in a few more games this upcoming season, he'll without a doubt be sitting at the Championship Game table. Just a side note, next season's schedule will have a large gap in between games 1 & 2 as we give some adjustment time at our home following the birth of Jenni & I's baby girl. The season will also be a little bit smaller causing the games to qualify number to fall to 5. Next season's schedule will be posted in a following headline. Hope to see you all next year! Have a happy and safe Christmas & New Years!

Year 2012 is in the Books

Sharp December 9, 2012
It's all said and done guys. A second SPL Champion has been crowned. Weeble was not able to pull of a back to back. That means there is a new Champion. So congrats to... well... Me! That's right! Suck it bitches! I officially took down the Title game last night. Congrats to Zulli with a impressive first Title game showing placing 2nd. Congrats also to Brandon who placed 3rd. Hope you all had fun last night, and hope the rest of you had fun throughout the season! Site stats are fully updated, and the Year 2012 Awards have been posted on the player profile pages. Hope to see you all next season. Next season's schedule should be posted shortly.

Year 2012 Season Comes to a Close

Sharp December 3, 2012
Last Saturday's game wraps up the 2012 season. Congrats to V who secured the final spot in the top 9. It was a close one to the finish. Doubt will ever see the season end with that close of a margin between 9th and 10th place again. Some familiar faces made the Top 9 this year, yet also almost half are newcomers. Only thing left now is the Championship Game. This game will take place on Dec. 8th. The game is of course invite only for the Top 9 of the season, though anyone is welcome to attend and watch the game. Last year there was a game going on the side while the Championship Game was going on. That may happen again this year. That's all up to the extras that attend. The 2013 season should be posted soon. If we don't see you at the Championship game, hope to see you all next year. Have a safe and happy holidays!

One More Game in the 2012 Season

Sharp November 18, 2012
One more game left this season before the Championship game guys! Jenni has been officially invited to the Championship game bringing the invites to 6. The last 3 invites are still in the air. Players involved in those last 3 invites are Zulli, Greg C., V, Momma Sharp, Alex B., and Heather F. Last game of the season is on Dec. 1st, which brings us to the Championship game on Dec. 8th. Of course the Championship game is a invite only game, yet anyone is allowed to attend. Last year there was a game going on the side. Also, you don't have to still be in the running for the Championship game to play on Dec. 1st. Just because you've been eliminated from that running doesn't mean you can't come over and have a good time. Also I will be going over next year's calendar and beginning to put together next year's season schedule soon. Next year's schedule will most likely have a couple less games, and be a little closer to around the total games of the 2011 season. If you have any dates next year that you would like me to possibly work around, I need to know soon. Just send me a message on FB or text me. Hope to see you all on the 1st of Dec., and good luck to everyone still trying to lock up a spot in the top 9!

Another Adam Game Has Come and Gone

Sharp August 26, 2012
Put another Adam Game in the books everyone... Hope everyone that came last night had a good time. Congrats to Andy D. for placing in his first SPL appearance. Congrats to Greg C. for taking down the Adam Game. That win just put Greg back into the hunt for the season. Also, the winner of the side pots went to Weeble for the high hand of the night, and Jason G. for last man standing. A league milestone was also reached last night. Sharp getting a kill against B-Jack gave Sharp his 100th all time kill for league play. Hope to see you all at the remaining games of the season. The lower half of the top 9 is starting to round off into what looks like could be a good fight to close the season.

Year 2012 First Third Recap

Sharp May 13, 2012
Well the first third of the Year 2012 season is in books. I want to give one last congrats to Andy and Lis for the birth of their first child. Hopefully it won't effect Andy from still coming to all the games and donating his hard earned money to us! I also want to throw out a big thank you to Jenni, V, Nick, and Andy for their continued "donations" for the games. Rather that be food, snacks, drinks, or beer for pregame activities. Thanks a lot guys! Never think it goes unnoticed! Just want to point out some changes to the website. The consecutive streak section in the Hall of Fame page is now properly working. I've been putting that one off for quite some time now. That was some bad ass coding to get that to work right. Figured I'd get to working right after Brandon won his 3rd in a row. Also, the player login section is now up and running to the public. By logging in, you modify what information of yours is viewed to other logged in members. You can also view contact information of other members if they so have it available to viewing. You can also RSVP for upcoming games when logged in. The RSVP list for upcoming games on the site is now the official list. If you don't feel like logging in and updating it yourself, I still update the RSVP list manually based on Facebook Event RSVPs, and word of mouth. I have other plans for the member section as well, but I'm not in that big of a hurry to complete them. I only dabble around with the site in my free time. If you currently do not have login information for your account, feel free to send me a message on Facebook, send me a text, etc. with a email you want linked to your account and I'll get you setup and running. Lastly, a self updating listing of the Top 9 final game placement/chip count is available for viewing in a link at the bottom of the season display page. Well on to season play! It's not to hard to tell who's been dominating the season to this point. That has Brandon's name written all over it. Pretty soon we're gonna have to start slipping something in his drinks to take him out of these games... This season has brought us some new faces. Well not completely new in some respects. This season has brought us the return of Jeremy M. who was on quite a hiatus over the last 2 years. Also, "Big Josh" who's been making more appearances than he has in quite some time. For real new faces, we have Billy B. who's been quietly making a name for himself at the table. One third into this season, and we're seeing a much different Top 9 playing out than last year! Currently there are 4 new faces in the Top 9 than when last season ended. Jason G., V, Zulli, & Billy B. are all trying to hang on to their positions in the Top 9. We'll see how this plays out as the season progresses. Hopefully we'll have a tight race right down to the wire like last year! 7 in the books, and 12 to go! Don't forget this year's Adam Game in on August 25th, with a 6PM start time. More information on that game will come at a future date. Players to watch; B-Jack: 6 games played, 6 times placed. 3 wins with a commanding lead in points. Currently sitting in 1st without challenge at 32.94 points. Not to go unmentioned is his 21 kills. His play has not only dominated the season thus far, but also has caused him to overtake almost all All Time categories in the Hall of Fame. Sharp: Last year's leader in points at season's end currently sitting in 3rd with 21.20 points. 2 wins and 3 times placed to open the season with a outstanding 30 kills in 7 games! Weeble: Currently sitting in 5th with 14.90 points, you can't count out last season's champion! He's only placed once to this point, and started the season off kind of rocky, though he's had very solid play in the last 4 games as he tries to get back into form and make a run at another title. Gary K.: Gary has had spotty attendance, though in this season he's shown in just 2 games that he can make some noise if he wants to. Continued attendance during the season at his current play will put him into position to make a legit run at the Top 9 by season's end. Players NOT to watch; Andy C.: What can I say about Andy? He sucks... Most Improved Player So Far; Zulli: Nick has shown real solid play at times. He's also made his first cash this year, and is slowly climbing the the Top 9. Nick could be placed even higher than he is with more points than he has. I've personally dogged him out of 4 games with 4 bad beats. Everything he's accomplished this season so far he's also done with 0 rebuys and 1 addon. Only time will tell if he can continue to improve and hold onto his position in the Top 9. Possible Sleepers; Heather F.: Heather has shown real solid play to this point. If she can get over the hump in a few games, with continued attendance, she should not have a problem stacking her Top 9 claim by the end of the season. Jeremy M.: Jeremy's back, with great attendance after a long hiatus. He's had a rough start of the season to this point as he continues to try and shake off the rust. But watch out, he does have the knowledge, and he knows what he's doing. Could he be another new face in the Top 9 by seasons end? Hope everyone's had a great time to this point. Always remember, we are looking for good people to join us on game night. If you have anyone you know that is interesting in playing, feel free to invite them. A few extra regular attenders and we can really shake up a Top 9 race by the end of the season! Always remember, you are personally vouching for anyone you invite though. Next game is this Saturday, May 19th. Hope to see you all there! Brandon & I have a impressive beer pong win streak we are looking to continue before the game!

Congrats to Andy and Lis

Sharp April 29, 2012
On 04-28-2012 at approx. 6:11PM, Sean James Callan was born. This is Andy & Lis' first child. He was 19" long, & 7lbs 2oz.

Rule Change Effective Immediately

Sharp February 6, 2012
Please note a rule change which will take effect immediately. The following has been added to Rule 21: Tournament Attendance "All initial buy-ins must be made before the start of a tournament. If you have not bought in before the start of a tournament, you will not be allowed to play."

Changes to Season Display Pages

Sharp February 5, 2012
There have been some changes made to the season display pages. If you are viewing a completed season, you will still see Time Played as the statistic on the far right. Though if you are viewing a season still in progress, they Time Played stat has been replaced with a Latest Information field. This will show the latest playing information for all ranked players in the season. Anyone interested in still viewing the Time Played field as it progresses throughout a season, this stat is still available in the Player Profile pages. Also, a wins column has also been added to the season display pages. Last but not least, the ability to sort the season display page by other stats besides current rank is now available. You now have the ability to sort all players in a season by current rank, points, points avg., wins, times placed, kills, rebuys, & addons. You can do so by simply clicking on the header for those specific columns. You can only highlight individual players for easier viewing of a specific player. To do so simply click on a players rank. I will also soon be adding a link to running seasons to view a projected Title Game table that will update itself throughout the season. It will show who's in the Top 9 (and a few players on the bubble) and what chip count they would start with if the season ended on that specific day. More changes are to come soon as I continue to adds things to the site when I'm bored. :) ...I almost forgot!! I also added a arrow up/arrow down feature to the season display page. This will show to the right of a players name. The arrow will either point up or down depending on your overall ranking movement after the last season game played. There may be no arrow at all if you had no movement. Also, if you hover over the arrow with your mouse cursor, it will show you the amount of ranks you either climbed or fell.
