Our Story
How It Started
Sharp's Poker League consists of friends, family, and co-workers who simply enjoy getting together and playing poker on the weekends. Sharp's Poker League was started around 2002 and consisted of basic weekend home games with no fixed schedule. It was simply an excuse for everyone to get together, have some drinks, play some cards, and have a good time.
SPLeague changed to a league and points-style format in 2011. The idea was to add a little extra excitement to our weekend home poker games. Since adding league play, our games have become more interesting by giving everyone a common goal to strive for rather than playing the same weekly game with nothing beyond that night on the line.
League play has also allowed us to open our games to more people and make new friends in the process. We enjoy a regular crowd at our games, along with new faces, some of whom continue to come back, enjoy the good times, and play some poker.
